Would you like to make a difference by cleaning up the trails and beaches of Kiptopeke? Join us on National Trails Day to safely pick up and dispose of ground trash. Removing trash prevents harm to wildlife and eliminates non-biodegradable waste that can leach toxins into soil and water. Stop by the Camp Store in the pier parking lot to pick up buckets, grabbers, and gloves. Please wear sunscreen and bring plenty of water to drink.
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
