Celebrate National Trails Day by becoming a Trail Hero! This family-friendly, ranger-led hike around Old Pond Trail will explore steps we can take to recreate responsibly and share the trails with wildlife, other hikers, and the land. Old Pond Trail is .2 miles and fully paved. Meet the ranger near the Visitor Center sign.
All ages and experience levels are welcome. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration needed. FREE.
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
