Wisdom from the Wild: Place Tending

"Wisdom from the Wild" is a monthly series that will lead you on wonder-filled journey to recovering your sense of belonging and finding your truest self, rooted in the rhythms and raptures of nature. Through a variety of mindful observations and reflections synchronized with the seasons, we will examine the ecology of natural ecosystems, explore our own ecological body, and practice integrating nature’s wisdom into our daily life. This program is for teens and adults.

October's Theme: Place Tending
As we stand with both feet firmly planted in autumn, we see signs that nature is tending as she slows down, prepares for the season of rest, and releases what is longer serving growth. This month, we will reflect on the ways nature tends her landscapes and explore how we, as humans, can commit to our own place tending within ourselves, our relationships with others, and our community.

What to Expect: 
This program involves standing and walking in a mostly open meadow with some forest on partially flat ground with a moderate incline. Bring sun protection, water, and wear closed-toe shoes. Activities include discussion, listening and watching the environment, and mindful observation.
