Our trails are what guide us to beautiful destinations, join a ranger for a hike on National Trails Day. Spot a sycamore tree or a turtle sun bathing on a rock, there's lots of things to see and talk about while out on the trail. The meeting location for this program will be at the Sugar Hill Trail Head. Please wear close toed shoes and bring water. We hope to see you out on the trail!
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
