This program is a part of our blast to the past week! From June 22-27, we'll be hosting various programs from years past or history-related programs.
River Rocks and Wet Socks has been a staple park program for over 20 years! Since the early 2000s, children of all ages have enjoyed searching through the riverbed to find creatures of all kinds.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Find the hidden creatures of the Shenandoah River!
Collect macroinvertebrates from the shallows near the canoe launch and discover how these creatures indicate water quality. We'll be looking for stoneflies, crayfish, mayflies, and more! Wear shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting wet. Be prepared for slippery rocks and tiny creatures. This program is open to all ages.
