Calling all history (and kayak) lovers!
Celebrate the Department of Conservation's 100th anniversary with us on a guided kayaking tour! Learn a little bit about DCR's history, along with the history of the region and our park.
The float will be approximately 2 miles long. You must be at least 10 years old to participate. This float is not recommended for people with mobility impairments, as the shoreline for getting in and out of the kayaks is rocky and uneven.

About DCR's 100th Anniversary
A century of protecting Virginia’s natural and cultural treasures
On March 17, 1926, the Virginia General Assembly passed landmark legislation establishing the State Commission on Conservation and Development, planting the seeds for what would become today’s Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).
Now, a century later, we celebrate 100 years of protecting, preserving and enhancing the natural and cultural resources that make Virginia extraordinary. Learn more.
