Learn about the long, rich history of Virginia’s tobacco production on a short hike around Smith Mountain Lake State Park’s tobacco barn. You will learn about the deep history of tobacco and how it influenced Virginia’s landscape, economy, and culture. The hike will be on Tobacco Run trail; an easy, 0.5-mile, shaded trail.
Please bring shoes suitable for hiking, a water bottle, bug spray, and sunscreen. Please dress for the weather. Optional: hat, hiking stick, camera. Pets and children are welcome. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times.
