Want to learn how to navigate nature? Meet Interpretive Rangers on the visitor center lawn to learn basic outdoor skills!

Setting Up Camp: Learn what to pack on a camping trip and how to set up for success at the start of an adventure (1:00 PM).

Getting Un-Lost: Learn the art of orienteering, or finding your way through the natural landscape using maps and a compass (2:00 PM).

Fire Building 101: Learn different fire building techniques, how to safely maintain a campfire, and enjoy a toasty treat at the end (3:00 PM). Meet Rangers at the campfire ring on Osprey View Trail for this activity.

Stick with us all afternoon, or stop by for just a while - build your skills as you see fit! Registration recommended, but not required. To register, call the visitor center at 703-339-2385.
