July 4, 2026. 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

You are invited to celebrate Independence Day from "afar" under the peaceful night skies of the park. The park's open meadows make an ideal place to view Goochland County's fireworks show across the river from a quiet distance, which can be great for folks with audio sensitivities or mobility impairments. Bring your own camp chairs or blankets to set up on the pavement or grass. We also recommend bringing snacks and binoculars! Please note that alcohol is not permitted at the park.

Reservations:
Reservations are required for admission to the viewing area. Space is limited, so please reserve ahead and arrive early if you're able.

To make a reservation, call the Park Office at (804) 598-7148 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily or email powhatan@dcr.virginia.gov.

8 p.m. - Before the show, visit the nature discovery table, run around with bubble wands, or decorate the pavement with sidewalk chalk!
9 p.m. - Fireworks Begin
10 p.m. - Fireworks End
