Join local historian Brian McKnight and the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park for the Adventures in History: Coal Camp Bus Tour on Saturday, August 8, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Climb aboard a comfortable air-conditioned bus and travel deep into the heart of our region’s coal-mining heritage. You’ll explore the historic communities of Imboden, Exeter, Keokee, Appalachia, Inman, Stonega and Derby—each with its own stories, landmarks, and echoes of the miners who powered Southwest Virginia.
Bring your own lunch and your sense of adventure! Seating is limited, and this popular tour fills up quickly, so early reservations are encouraged. The cost is $25 per person. The registration deadline is Friday, July 31 by 4 p.m.
