Come on down to the river for an in-seine-ly good time! The brackish waters of the Potomac River are home to a unique variety of fish and shellfish. Meet at the visitor center to join a Ranger for a wagon ride to the shore where we'll explore using seine and other nets to discover what is in the water. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get wet.

This program requires paid reservations. Call the park at 540-663-3861 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or stop by the visitor center to reserve your spot. Parking fee is $5.

About Girl Scouts Love State Parks

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
