Join us at Douthat State Park for Homeschool Naturalists, a monthly outdoor education series designed for homeschool students of all ages. Each session explores a different nature-based topic through hands-on activities, guided discovery, and time in the great outdoors.
This session of Homeschool Naturalist is All About Bats. We’ll learn about the different types of bats found in Virginia, explore their unique adaptations, and talk about the important role bats play in our ecosystems. After the lesson, we’ll get moving with a fun echolocation game and finish up by making a bat-themed craft to take home.
