The Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park is pleased to present the Hidden Histories of Southwest Virginia: Melungeon Heritage Bus Tour. This guided experience explores the history of the often-misunderstood group known as the Melungeon’s. Participants will journey into the past with regional historian Wayne Winkler, gaining insight into an important and fascinating part of Southwest Virginia’s heritage. The tour will take place on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guests will travel aboard the park’s bus to several significant locations tied to Melungeon history, including Dungannon, VA; Clinch Mountain; Sneedville, TN; and Jonesville, VA. Seating is limited, so early reservations are encouraged. The cost is $25 per person, and participants are responsible for their own lunch.
