Every autumn, the forests, orchards, and fields of Sweet Run provide a bounty of fruits and nuts that have sustained wildlife and people for generations. From acorns and hickory nuts to apples, persimmons, and pawpaws, discover how this seasonal harvest shaped life on the land - and why every seed tells a story of survival, renewal, and connection. Along the way, participants will learn tips for safe and enjoyable trail experiences with dogs, including proper leash etiquette, reading canine body language, and strategies for navigating shared-use trails. Dogs must be leashed at all times, current on rabies and comfortable around people and other pets. The hike is approximately 1 mile and is on moderately steep and uneven terrain.
