Walk the Beach for Good Reason! Beach Cleanup at FLSP

Location of First Landing State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Entrance to Main Boardwalk
Main Park Address: First Landing State Park, 2500 Shore Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

When

Nov. 21, 2026. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Join First Landing State Park volunteers to collect and document the litter on our Chesapeake Bay beach!

The goal of this beach cleanup is not just to remove the litter, it's also to record the type and amount of trash that washes up on our shoreline. Hundreds of beach cleanups each year provide ocean researchers with a robust dataset to better understand ocean pollution and its sources.

The Ocean Conservancy has more than half a century of impact removing plastic trash, marine debris, and other waste from our public waterways. FLSP works with Clean Virginia Waterways to hold International Coastal Cleanups (ICC), an Ocean Conservancy program, each year.

All supplies will be provided. Dress for the weather, and bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
This event is open to all, and children are welcome. Pets must be on a 6 foot leash. Pre-registration is encouraged: FLSP Beach Cleanup

Meet at the CBC (Chesapeake Bay Center) at the Park, on the campground/beach side of Shore Drive.
Saturday, November 21, 10 AM - 12 PM.
