STUART, Va. – Nature lovers, citizen scientists and outdoor enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Spring BioBlitz at Fairy Stone State Park, taking place May 8-10. This family-friendly event is an exciting opportunity to explore the park’s diverse habitats, contribute to scientific research and connect with nature.

During the three-day BioBlitz, participants will work alongside naturalists, park rangers and fellow community members to identify and document as many plant and animal species as possible throughout the park. From frogs to fungi, every observation helps scientists better understand the rich biodiversity of Fairy Stone’s unique ecosystems.

“This is a great way for people of all ages and experience levels to get hands-on with science,” said Park Manager Adam Layman. “Whether you're an experienced naturalist or just curious about what lives in your backyard, the BioBlitz is a chance to learn, share and make an impact.”
