RANDOLPH, Va. – Updates are being made at both visitor centers at Staunton River Battlefield State Park that will enhance the guest experience. Renovations are being made to the Clover visitor center, and it will be closed on June 29 while the work takes place.

The park has converted the Roanoke Station visitor center, also known as the depot, into a nature center. It is currently open on the first Saturday of each month April through October from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m., along with the Mulberry Hill tours.

Both visitor centers have been undergoing renovations, and each will reopen with a new purpose.

“Once the Clover center is closed, the Roanoke Station center will serve as the visitor center open Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.,” said Staunton River Battlefield State Park Manager David Gunnells. “After the Clover center is reopened, the Roanoke Station center will go back to being open on the first Saturday of the month April through October from noon until 3 p.m. We’re excited to highlight the new exhibits that offer deeper insight into the land our park is built on.”

The Clover center is expected to reopen late August but be sure to check the website for updates before your visit.
