Sky Meadows State Park hosts Junior Ranger Camp for summer adventurers ages 7-10

DELAPLANE, Va. - Sky Meadows State Park is excited to offer Junior Ranger Camp this month, a four-day, half-day summer experience designed to spark curiosity and inspire the next generation of outdoor stewards. Children ages 7-10 are invited to immerse themselves in hands-on, screen-free adventures in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Led by Sky Meadows’ knowledgeable park rangers, Junior Ranger Camp offers a small-group learning environment where campers explore the park's natural and cultural treasures.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in guided hikes, agriculture education, outdoor skill-building and interactive nature discovery. Campers will also explore the park’s historic farmstead, help tend gardens and livestock and learn about the habitats and stewardship traditions that make Sky Meadows unique.

The week concludes with a Junior Ranger graduation ceremony, celebrating each child’s accomplishments and welcoming them as the park’s newest stewards.

Camp Details:

Ages: 7-10
Schedule: Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fee: $150 per camper
Sessions: Week 1: July 14-17 or Week 2: July 28-31

Campers may register for one session. To reserve a spot, parents can go to www.virginiastateparks.gov/skymeadows-events, select their preferred dates and complete the Eventbrite form.
