EWING, Va. – The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation is hosting a public comment meeting to discuss the master plan update for Wilderness Road State Park. Master plans are updated every 10 years and help guide park development and conservation.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the park’s visitor center theater located at 8051 Wilderness Rd., Ewing, VA 24248.

Attendees will learn about the draft master plan and have the opportunity to comment and identify park needs. Anyone unable to attend can provide feedback during the 30-day comment period until Dec. 4, 2026.

Wilderness Road State Park offers a glimpse into 18th-century frontier life with its reconstructed Martin’s Station, a living history museum portraying life in 1775. Nestled near the Cumberland Gap, the park also features scenic trails, a visitor center with an award-winning film and the historic Karlan Mansion, which is available for events.
