Ever wanted to learn how to fish, but never knew where to start? A park ranger will guide you on selecting the right equipment, different fishing techniques, casting techniques, fishing safety, and identifying common fish species.

For those 16 years and older a freshwater fishing license will be required to participate in the program. The cost for this program is $5 per participant on top of the $7 per vehicle parking fee.

Advanced registration is required, and fees must be paid at time of reservation. Register by 5 p.m. the day prior at the Discovery Center or over the phone with a credit card by calling 434-408-1587. Space is limited and spots are available on a first come, first served basis.

Parks are for everyone. To ensure an enjoyable time, please alert park staff to any necessary special accommodations you or your group may need.
